Influencing change

            After watching “To Kill a Mockingbird”, I realized how badly black people were treated in the 30’s and how unfairly they actually were treated. This book and movie can influence change in many areas whether to how you treat people that are different then yourself.

            This movie can influence a lot of change, for one is how you treat people. In “To Kill a Mockingbird” a black person named Tom Robinson was convicted for rape, a crime he never even committed. A change in this could of shown back in the 30’s that people can be treated the same no matter how different they may have been.

            Change is not always necessarily a good thing, but in these terms change would be a great thing it could have changed the whole future on how people look at others. The way people were treated then could be entirely. The difference would be a great thing for the future people.

            Being such a popular book and movie it could influence many kids and young adults on how you should treat people fairly. When they grow up they will have an idea on the fairness they should give to people that are not as equal as they are.

                                           Letter to the future

To the people of the future, I put 5 things in this time capsule that I believe are important to the future so you could more understand the people of my time, whether it is to do with food, liquor, music and excreta. The world is probably a lot different than it is now, your technology is most likely insane and may not seem like much to you, just like the technology we have today doesn’t seem like much either. So many things must have changed like the cars and computers and music, I wish I was living to see the change in the earth, if the earth has survived for that long that is.  The way of life must have changed entirely to, maybe it’s easier to grow food then it was now, like some kinds of instant grow.  Good luck to you all and have a good life.

     5 Things to put in a time capsule

          The first thing I would put in the time capsule would be a can of soup. I would put a can of soup in because I would like to show what type of food we had now a days. It also would show the difference between the cans that we have today and how theirs looks. If their food is different then what we eat today it will show them what we would have to eat.

          The second thing I would put in is an mp3 player with my favorite songs on it. I would put in an mp3 in because it would show the people what we had to listen to. In a way the music on the mp3 could show what kind of a person I am. It also could you what our technology is now compared to the technology then.

          The third thing I would put in would be a pencil. 100 years from now the technology would scare you. I would put a pencil in because that what we used to write with and the kids of the future would use all computer technology. Putting in a pencil would show how much things changed over many years. It would also show how far technology has come along.

          The fourth thing I would put in would be a cell phone. I would put the cell phone to again show what our technology was like now. 100 years from now they are going to have many new phones that will be a lot different than ours. They could see what we had to use for technology.

          The fifth thing I would put into the time capsule would be a quart of Whiskey (Fireball). I would put a bottle of fireball in to show the

liquor that we had around now. Also maybe if still not in bad shape may give them a little buzz. 

I woke up bright and early this morning to get a fresh start on my day. As I woke up I went to the kitchen where mom had breakfast cooked, I ate as fast as I could. When I finished eating I ran out the back door of my house. It was a beautiful day out, not to warm or not to cold it was just right. The tree in the back yard stood so tall, within the tree was the tree house not just any tree house, it was a magic tree house. Whenever I went into it and closed my eyes I would be transported to a new place, almost as if it was a dream.

Today was a special day, it was really special it just felt like a special day. I got in the tree house and closed my eyes. Next thing I knew I was in the middle of a village, not just any village but a village full of Native Americans running around, the place was full of T pees. The town was small but there were many people and children. I opened my eyes and I was back home.

I closed my eyes again and woke up in the forest, not a forest around the world, but the one a crossed the road from my house. The animals in the forest weren’t like the others around the world but like the ones from the movies I watch. It was like a cartoon, a cartoon I was actually in, it was really fun.

My eyes opened and I was back in my tree house, and mom was calling me for supper. I went in the house eat and went to my room and dreamt about where the three house would take me tomorrow.

In fifth place Pompeii, Rome, Pompeii is one of the older towns in Rome.  Pompeii was an ancient Roman city, buried by a volcanic eruption.

          Jamal Wallace a smart 16 year old boy gets a scholarship to go to a prodigious private school. With great luck Jamal meets a famous writer named William Forrester. As Jamal learns from William on how to write better, William learns from Jamal how to live and get out of his apartment and enjoy life outside the apartment.

          The movie had very good quality because it shows what it looks like in New, York. The acting too helps show how the theme and the atmosphere of where the movie takes place.

          I think that the movie is trying to tell you to live not how to live but to just live, and try to get out and do things before something happens that will throw everything off and you may never do it, like William in the movie he never left his apartment for so long so he never got to live the way he should of when he had the chance.

          William Forrester kind of reminds me of the Grinch, because like William the Grinch never left his den and he scared people just like William does in the movie. Also just like the Grinch William let someone in and became friends with him.

         

            

        I chose this review because its the review that had the most detail about the hunger games. In the review it talks about the main idea of the movie and what its about without ruining any of whats in the end of the movie. In the review it talks about all the main characters that are in the movie.

        What i think made it a good film review is that it talked about the plot and the setting of where the movie took place. Also i liked the music they chose for curtain parts of the movie, like for the parts that where very intense they had music to correspond. In the review it talked about how the book was more detailed then the movie. For this review they gave the movie a -A which i believe is a good mark for the movie.

7 seconds

I hear the crowd cheering, feet stomping in the bleachers. The ticking of the clock 7..6...5....4.....3, times slowing down. The flash backs going through my head like a film from a movie theater. Faces appear, plays that I have made start coming back into my head. All the pain and all the work I put into this sport, this is the moment. The moment I worked my whole life for.

    Tick...Tick...Tick, its all coming back. Arms and abs both burning. Years and years of doing the same thing everyday. Arms and abs in so much pain. Burns and burns more and more. Everything in my body seems to collapse, all the organs just seem, to shut down.

      My heart begins to beat faster and faster. I look at the scoreboard down by 2.  I put my foot on the three point line straightening up and the ball leaves my finger tips...The ball spins and its as if my world is spinning, around and around my world goes. I hear the horn go off the ball still spinning in mid-air closer and closer the ball gets to the hoop. Swish, the crowd begins to cheer, my ears ring from the screaming. I get swarmed by people like a crowd of blackflies. It’s over, all the hard work for that moment that last 7 seconds.
